A week ago today, Vela and Mae made their way into the world. They are beyond beautiful – at least to their doting parents – and are getting stronger every day. Hopefully they’ll be home with us soon.
Labour and delivery went great, given the circumstances. Good thing I didn’t know that most people only push hard for 20 minutes or so: I was at it for about 3.5 hours. It felt like time was simultaneously flying and at a stand-still, until our little ladies made their appearances.
We are beyond smitten with our little Peanut and Mae Bug. I probably won’t be writing much for a while, as I spend most of my time at the hospital angling for cuddles, but we’ll be back soon enough. In the meantime, if you’re pregnant, pack your hospital bag a week before you think you need to. Just in case!
